Typical Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday (or equivalent)
The Senior Contract Manager will take full ownership of the project lifecycle, with a strong focus on client engagement and building lasting client relationships. You will ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental standards while maintaining financial control and delivering within budget. The role requires an innovative mindset to drive continuous improvement across project works. You will lead a team of contract managers and planners, ensuring high-quality delivery, proactively managing challenges, and fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
What you’ll do
Lead and mentor a team of Contract and Planning Managers, driving development, collaboration, and high performance.
Build and maintain client relationships, manage complex issues, and support business growth.
Oversee project delivery, finances, and budgets, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all sites.
Support business development, tendering, and resourcing, including equipment and subcontractor management.
Drive process improvement, technology use, and reporting to enhance efficiency and project visibility.
Manage regional projects, including sign-off on key decisions and maintaining accreditations.

What we’re looking for
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
5+ years working within the rail industry or similar.
5+ years management experience within a similar industry.
Industry knowledge of arboriculture and/or rail
Working with different stakeholders
Full UK driving licence - travel required.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
Experience working in a manual role within the industry or similar.
Holds COSS and SMSTS qualification, however training will be provided.
HSQE Qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH
