Location: Falkirk, Scotland (Hybrid position, working between home and in person days at one of our offices)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a confident and driven Business Development Executive to join our Business Development and Bid Team. Supporting the Pre-Construction Director, you’ll play a key role in researching opportunities, supporting bid administration, and contributing to client proposals. This hybrid role is ideal for someone starting out in sales or looking to move into business growth areas such as marketing or bid management.
What you’ll do:
In this role, whether you’re starting your career in sales or looking to move into a new market, you will demonstrate our core values in everything you do while bringing strong listening, questioning, and communication skills. You’ll be highly motivated and self-driven to achieve targets, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. A confident approach and clear focus on your objectives will be key, alongside a genuine ambition to hit targets and continuously develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Build knowledge of Ground Control’s Rail & Infrastructure capabilities
Research client activity, market trends, and competitor insights
Conduct outbound calls to maintain accurate data and identify opportunities
Monitor customer activity and highlight risks or emerging trends
Manage tender portals, including document downloads and notifications
Identify and track tender opportunities, producing shortlists
Support bid and proposal administration from initiation to submission
Prepare bid governance packs in collaboration with BD and Bid Leads
Analyse bid performance, including pipeline, wins, and losses
Maintain case studies, bid library content, and CVs
Support HR and L&D with maintaining the skills matrix

Be able to demonstrate your research ability
Excellent creative writing skills
Strong numeracy skills
Minimum: Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration (HND in Scotland), or Certificate in Marketing (Level 4)
