What you’ll do:
This role combines bid management and bid writing. The Junior Bid Manager, supported by the Bid Director, manages the end-to-end preparation, production, and submission of bids and proposals, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and compelling responses. They coordinate with internal teams, develop win strategies, gather information, and maintain visibility for stakeholders throughout the process. Their work directly supports Ground Control in securing new contracts, meeting client requirements, and strengthening its market presence.

Key Responsibilities:
Bid Management: Own the bid process from inception to submission, ensuring high-quality, compliant proposals. Lead the ‘Decision to Bid’ process, manage timelines, key deliverables, and compliance documentation, while keeping internal teams informed and engaged. Conduct client engagement and post-submission analysis.
Bid Coordination: Ensure streamlined documentation, maintain bid pipeline visibility, and provide robust handovers to operational teams for successful bids.
Bid Strategy: Support the creation and communication of bid strategies, aligning with client requirements and Ground Control’s capabilities.
Proposal Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and produce tailored, persuasive responses highlighting Ground Control’s strengths.
Manage Multiple Bids: Oversee multiple complex bids simultaneously, ensuring timely, high-quality submissions with support from the Bid Director.
Stakeholder Feedback: Analyse and incorporate stakeholder feedback to enhance proposals and meet client expectations.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in bid writing across the full lifecycle
Strong understanding of bid processes, compliance requirements, and proposal preparation
Ability to manage multiple bids under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with strong attention to detail
Strong research and analytical skills to produce tailored, compelling responses
Effective collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders
Ability to independently manage the entire bid process
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with public notices, reports, and bid-related documentation
Experience using AI tools to support bids and written responses
Experience assisting with technical and cost proposals
Knowledge of industry regulations and bid submission requirements
Familiarity with document design and presentation best practices
Experience in grounds maintenance, civil engineering, or FM sectors
Experience managing complex projects, even without direct bidding experience
