Build trusted partnerships. Drive growth. Make every client interaction count.
You thrive on building strong relationships, understanding what matters most to your clients, and finding solutions that create real value. You enjoy being the person clients turn to for advice, support and guidance, and you take pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience that keeps customers engaged for the long term.
At Ground Control, we're looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of key grounds maintenance clients. This is an opportunity to become a trusted partner to customers, influence retention and growth, and play a key role in shaping the client experience. You'll have the autonomy to manage your accounts, the support of experienced colleagues across Sales and Operations, and the opportunity to make a visible impact on both customer satisfaction and commercial performance.
What you'll do:
In this role, you'll build long-term client relationships, drive account growth and ensure customers receive a consistently high level of service.
Act as the primary contact for your portfolio of clients, building trusted relationships that strengthen retention and long-term partnership opportunities.
Lead regular client meetings, site visits and account reviews, providing valuable insights and ensuring customers feel supported, informed and engaged.
Work closely with operational teams to deliver a seamless customer experience, helping resolve challenges quickly and maintaining confidence in our service delivery.
Identify opportunities to expand services across existing accounts, generating qualified leads that contribute to portfolio growth and wider business success.
Manage client escalations with professionalism and urgency, finding practical solutions that protect relationships and improve customer satisfaction.
Support the mobilisation of new contracts and client transitions, helping ensure projects are delivered smoothly and customers experience a positive start to their journey with Ground Control.
Develop account plans, maintain stakeholder maps and keep CRM records up to date, providing visibility and structure across your portfolio.
Review trends, performance data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, increased value and stronger client outcomes.
What you'll get:
The opportunity to manage and grow relationships with some of Ground Control's key clients.
A role where your work directly influences customer retention, satisfaction and business growth.
The autonomy to take ownership of your portfolio and make decisions that create positive outcomes.
Exposure to senior stakeholders across multiple client organisations and service lines.
Support from experienced leaders and collaborative teams across Sales, Operations and Customer Services.
Opportunities to develop your commercial, relationship management and strategic account management skills within a growing business.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Client Services or a similar customer-facing commercial role.
A track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across client organisations.
Experience identifying growth opportunities, upselling services or contributing to revenue growth within existing accounts.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and build credibility at all levels.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach when managing challenges, complaints and escalations.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across a varied client portfolio.
Commercial awareness and the ability to spot opportunities that deliver value for both clients and the business.
Experience within grounds maintenance, facilities management, property services or a multi-site service environment would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.
At Ground Control, we believe great client relationships are built through trust, communication and consistently delivering on our promises. If you're someone who enjoys creating long-term partnerships, solving problems and making a measurable impact, we'd love to hear from you.
