Ground Control is seeking a confident and motivated Credit Controller to manage the end-to-end credit control process, from invoicing to debt recovery, while supporting wider finance operations in a fast-paced commercial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Control & Debt Recovery

Proactively manage debt collection across a diverse client base

Contact customers via phone and email to recover outstanding balances

Negotiate and agree on repayment plans based on customer circumstances

Hit monthly cash collection and aged debt reduction targets

Investigate reasons for non-payment and resolve account issues professionally

Invoicing & Reconciliation

Raise accurate sales invoices and credit notes

Post daily receipts and complete daily bank reconciliations

Ensure accounts are kept up-to-date with accurate records and notes

Reconcile accounts regularly to maintain ledger integrity

Customer Engagement & Query Management

Handle queries from clients and internal teams promptly and professionally

Maintain clear, accurate customer account records

Build and sustain strong working relationships with clients

Finance Support & Administration

Work closely with the Purchase Ledger and Finance team to ensure cohesive processes

Support finance reports and audit preparation through accurate data entry and documentation

Escalate persistent non-payment issues appropriately and in a timely manner

What we’re looking for:

Proven experience in a Credit Control or similar finance role

Excellent communication skills – confident, diplomatic, and professional

Strong attention to detail with the ability to reconcile accounts accurately

Skilled in relationship building with both internal teams and external clients

Target-driven, with a proactive approach to hitting collection and finance deadlines

Solid Excel skills and general Microsoft Office proficiency

Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism
