Ground Control is looking for an organised and motivated Sales Ledger Assistant to join our dynamic Finance team. You’ll play a crucial role in managing customer invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation, ensuring everything runs smoothly and supports our wider operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Generating and issuing customer invoices and credit notes in line with contract terms
Processing and allocating incoming payments with speed and accuracy
Maintaining and reconciling the Sales Ledger
Posting daily bank receipts and ensuring correct allocation
Supporting the Purchase Ledger team with invoice processing and payment runs
Investigating and resolving account queries quickly and professionally
Managing the finance inbox and answering calls from both customers and colleagues
Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly ledger reports
Contributing to month-end and year-end close processes
Collaborating with Contracts, Commercial, and Finance teams to improve billing accuracy
Ensuring compliance with company financial policies and regulations
Supporting process improvement projects to drive efficiency
What we’re looking for:
Experience in a sales ledger or similar finance role
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
A proactive, target-focused attitude—especially around month-end/year-end deadlines
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
Confident working with Microsoft Excel and Office
Able to build great relationships across teams and with external customers
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment
