Role purpose:
The POS/Lift Planner is responsible for developing comprehensive lift plans for POS (Plant Operating Scheme) and lifting operations undertaken by the company. This includes ensuring compliance with Network Rail Standards, liaising with various stakeholders, and managing lifting operations effectively and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Develop specific lift plans for each project or site-specific work.
- Deputise for the POS/Plant Compliance Manager when required.
- Attend pre-work meetings to understand site requirements regarding lifting operations.
- Liaise with Principal Contractors, contractors, and OTP/plant suppliers.
- Coordinate with the company POS/Plant Compliance Manager and Site POS Representative for the use and management of OTPs and Trackside plant during lifting operations.
- Ensure adherence to ALO (Adjacent Lines Open) working requirements and Network Rail Standards.
- Use appropriate manufacturer's lift planning software for creating accurate lift plans.
- Review lift plans with POS Manager or Site POS Representatives before implementation.
- Apply a proactive “Plan, Do, Review” approach to work
- Balance workload to meet all requirements timely.
- Oversee forecasting, staff and plant allocation, transport management, pricing, and cost management.
- Drive business development and ensure compliance with maintenance and safety standards
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Hold COSS MC/CC Competence.
- Maintain Lift Planner Sentinel competence.
- Hold SW Planner (SSoWP) Sentinel competence.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in developing lift plans.
- Understanding of the planning process for POS management and implementation on site.
- Completion of the Network Rail Detailed ALO Knowledge Briefing
- IT literacy, proficient in all MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication and planning skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Well-organized and structured approach to work
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with Ground Control IT systems.
- Demonstrated ability in business development and cost management.
- Advanced qualifications in relevant fields.
