Contract Manager

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

We're looking for an experienced Contract Manager to lead the operational delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works within our Land & Water division.

You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, while leading Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Supervisors. You'll also build strong client relationships, manage programmes and commercial performance, and ensure projects are delivered in line with contract requirements.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the full lifecycle delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure programmes.

• Manage Project Managers, QSs, Supervisors and wider project teams.

• Ensure works are delivered to agreed programmes, budgets, specifications and quality standards.

• Manage contract administration, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events.

• Challenge programmes and monitor project progress and performance.

• Oversee site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

• Ensure effective allocation of labour, plant and materials.

• Develop and implement Safe Systems of Work and RAMS.

• Lead site audits, inspections, team meetings and performance reviews.

• Maintain strong client relationships and manage project expectations.

• Monitor commercial performance and budgets.

• Lead quality inspections, audits and project handovers.

• Promote a strong health, safety and quality culture across all projects.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience managing civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, including highways, drainage, utilities and earthworks.

• Experience managing budgets and commercial performance.

• Strong understanding of HSE legislation and compliance.

• Proven leadership and team management experience.

• Strong client and stakeholder management skills.

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering.

• SMSTS.

• Black CSCS Card.

• IOSH Managing Safely.

• Good understanding of the 2015 CDM Regulations.

• NVQ Level 6 in Senior Construction Site Management.

Desirable:

• NEBOSH.

• Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.

• Appointed Person for Lifting.
