Ground Worker - Concrete Corer

Location: London/South

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

We're looking for a hardworking and reliable Experienced Concrete Corer to join our Geotechnical Solutions team, supporting MER operations and concrete coring activities across projects nationwide.

You'll work alongside experienced operatives, supporting site preparation, excavation, Concrete Coring, and reinstatement activities. This is a hands-on role with plenty of opportunity to learn new skills, gain qualifications and progress your career within Ground Control.

What you’ll do:

• Support MER Operatives with mobilisation, excavation, and reinstatement activities.

• Prepare sites, including clearing areas, setting up barriers, and maintaining safe access.

• Concrete coring, to include setting up equipment, preparing work areas and handling core samples.

• Ability to core in different diameters and depths.

• Support the operation of concrete core drilling equipment under instruction and appropriate training.

• Assist with measuring, marking out and positioning coring locations.

• Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.

• Backfilling, compaction, and reinstatement of excavated areas.

• Keep equipment clean, maintained and report any defects.

• Follow site-specific RAMS, safety procedures, and environmental requirements.

• Take part in toolbox talks, briefings, and daily safety checks.

• Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe.

• Work as part of a team to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in Concrete coring.

• Basic understanding of excavation and reinstatement.

• Comfortable using hand tools and basic site equipment.

• Physically fit and able to carry out manual work in different weather conditions.

• Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements.

• Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn.

• Good teamworking and communication skills.

• CSCS card

• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• NVQ level 2 in concrete coring would be a advantage.

• Experience operating small plant or machinery is desirable.

• First Aid or other relevant safety qualifications are advantageous.
