At Ground Control, our Winter Maintenance operation runs around the clock to support clients when they need us most. We're looking for a Nightshift Administrator to join us on a fixed-term basis, providing maternity cover for approximately three months. Working 10-hour night shifts on a 4-on, 4-off rota, you'll play an important role in supporting operational delivery, managing key communications and ensuring critical information is processed accurately and efficiently. What you'll do:
In this role, you'll provide vital overnight support to operational teams, customers and stakeholders, helping to keep our Winter Maintenance services running safely and efficiently.
Act as the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries, providing timely support and ensuring stakeholders receive accurate information when they need it.
Support operational teams in real time throughout the night, helping services run smoothly and ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
Manage reactive requests and additional works, ensuring they are raised correctly, tracked accurately and progressed through to completion.
Monitor operational activity and key performance information, identifying trends and supporting continuous improvement across the service.
Take shared ownership of team inboxes and systems, ensuring queries are prioritised, allocated appropriately and responded to within required timescales.
Identify issues requiring escalation and take prompt action to ensure operational, customer or service concerns are addressed effectively.
Raise and manage Health & Safety reports where required, supporting compliance and promoting safe working practices across operations.
Support projects, audits and wider business initiatives, helping maintain accurate data and contributing to service improvements across the department.
What you'll get:
The opportunity to play a key role in a business delivering critical services around the clock.
A position where your contribution directly supports operational performance and customer satisfaction.
The autonomy to manage priorities, solve problems and take ownership of important processes.
Exposure to a wide range of operational activities, providing valuable experience and development opportunities.
Support from an experienced, collaborative team that values teamwork, trust and continuous improvement.
The opportunity to contribute to projects and improvements that create lasting operational benefits.
What we're looking for:
Experience in an administration, coordination, customer service or operational support role within a fast-paced environment.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, customers and external partners.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to make decisions and take ownership of outcomes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel and Teams.
A resilient and adaptable individual who performs well in a busy operational environment.
Experience within Winter Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, facilities services or similar operational environments would be advantageous.
Previous experience supporting projects, audits or performance reporting would be beneficial.
Comfortable working 10-hour night shifts on a 4-on, 4-off rota as part of a 24/7 operational service.
Join Ground Control and help keep essential services moving through the night. If you're organised, proactive and enjoy making a real impact behind the scenes, we'd love to hear from you.
