Typical Hours: Monday to Friday 30 hours a week
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the beauty and health of outdoor landscapes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and gardening, with experience in landscape maintenance. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the aesthetic appeal for a prestigious hotel while ensuring the proper upkeep of green spaces.
Responsibilities
Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal.
Operate a range of power tools, hand tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
Conduct routine maintenance of gardening equipment and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
Assist with horticultural projects related to garden design or landscape features, including digging, planting, and installing features.
Manage irrigation systems to optimise water usage and maintain healthy plant life.
Monitor plant health, identify pests or diseases, and apply appropriate treatments as necessary.
Collaborate with clients or team members to plan garden layouts or improvements aligned with aesthetic goals.
Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe in accordance with health and safety regulations.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture.
Mechanical knowledge related to garden machinery and power tools.
Proficiency in using hand tools such as secateurs, spades, rakes, and shovels.
Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance.
PA/PA6 and Horticultural Qualifications (added bonus)
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
