At Ground Control, we deliver high-quality rail and infrastructure projects that prioritise safety, quality, and efficiency. We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of day-to-day site operations, lead field teams, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
This role is ideal for a proactive, client-focused leader who thrives on coordinating people, resources, and processes to deliver visible results on site.
What you’ll do:
You’ll play a key role in managing projects from site-level operations through to delivery, ensuring safety, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction at every step.
Site & Operations Management:
Plan and manage site activities, including vegetation and structure clearance
Lead on-site teams, maintaining safety, quality, and productivity
Monitor progress, allocate resources, and resolve site issues
Conduct inspections, audits, toolbox talks, briefings, and handover
Review team performance and ensure compliance with operational standards
Ensure staff complete paperwork and follow site procedure
Identify, report, and manage risks
Stakeholder Management
Documentation & Reporting
Deliver projects within agreed timeframes
Environmental, Sustainability & Social Value

What we’re looking for:
Essential
• Experienced Site Manager, ideally in rail or infrastructure
• Knowledge of vegetation management and HSE/CDM standards
• Strong leadership, communication, and IT skills
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
• Safety-first mindset with strong client relationship skills
• CSCS card (Site Manager/Supervisor) and PTS certificate
COSS Certification
Desirable
• Experience with Network Rail systems (Sentinel, NR forms, reporting tools)
• First Aid qualification
• Environmental or Arboricultural qualifications
