HR Advisor
People Advisor
Location: Midlands
Salary: Competitive
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
A role where your HR expertise makes a real operational difference.
If you enjoy supporting managers through real workplace challenges, navigating employee relations issues and helping leaders make confident people decisions, this is the kind of role where your skills will be valued. We’re looking for a People Advisor with experience working in fast-paced operational environments where priorities shift quickly and HR advice needs to be practical, clear, and commercially focused.
Working closely with a People Business Partner, you will support managers across the business, helping them manage employee relations matters, implement people processes, and maintain a positive and compliant working environment. This role will suit someone who enjoys solving problems, building strong relationships with managers, and operating where the business happens, rather than working in a purely administrative HR function.
What you’ll do
You’ll provide practical HR guidance to managers while supporting the delivery of key people processes across the business.
Provide day-to-day HR advice to managers on employee relations matters including absence, conduct, performance and capability
Support organisational change activities including restructures and TUPE processes alongside the People Business Partner
Assist with recruitment activity including role approvals, candidate screening and onboarding support
Produce HR documentation including contracts, change letters and policy updates while maintaining accurate HR records
Analyse HR data and trends to support workforce planning and operational decision making
Why join Ground Control?
Develop real HR capability
Work on a wide range of employee relations issues, gaining exposure to the kind of challenges that build strong HR advisory expertise.
Work close to operational teams
Support managers across a diverse organisation where HR advice has a direct impact on people, performance and culture.
Variety and pace
No two days look the same. From supporting managers with ER cases to contributing to HR initiatives and projects, you’ll be working in an environment where priorities evolve quickly.
Learn from experienced HR leaders
Work closely with People Business Partners who will support your development and broaden your exposure to strategic HR activity.
A supportive People team
Be part of a collaborative HR function focused on delivering practical, commercially relevant people solutions.
What we’re looking for
Experience operating as an HR Advisor within a fast-paced operational environment
Strong experience supporting employee relations processes including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management
Experience working with HR systems and producing HR documentation and reports
Strong communication skills with the confidence to advise and challenge managers constructively
CIPD Level 5 or working towards a CIPD qualification
Experience supporting TUPE transfers, restructures or organisational change would be beneficial.
This role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on HR advisory work and building strong working relationships with operational managers.
