A PE-backed, high-growth Business Services group in Essex is seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to strengthen its Group Finance capability during an exciting period of change, investment, professionalisation and process enhancement.
This position reporting to the Group Finance Director, is critical within a growing multi-entity organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Reporting & Consolidation
Lead the monthly group consolidation across c.5 entities (Microsoft Dynamics 365), delivering accurate and timely P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow reporting.
Partner with the Group FD in conducting robust monthly balance sheet reviews, ensuring integrity, consistency and control across all entities.
Prepare subsidiary statutory accounts and ensure full compliance with relevant reporting and filing requirements.
Technical Accounting & Controls
Maintain and oversee the Group Fixed Asset Register, including additions, disposals, depreciation calculations and periodic review.
Prepare bank covenant reporting and respond to lender information requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and submit UK and Ireland VAT returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulation.
Support and coordinate the annual audit process, acting as a key contact for external auditors and ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Process Improvement & Systems
Work closely with the Group FD to map, streamline and enhance group finance processes, supporting the development of a scalable, best-in-class finance function.
Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting frameworks, with a focus on strengthening controls, improving efficiency and enhancing data quality.
What we’re looking for:
Strong technical finance and/or Group Reporting experience, ideally within a multi-entity and/or PE-backed environment.
Demonstrable expertise in consolidations, statutory reporting, audit management and balance sheet control.
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP systems) is desirable.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving business, with the confidence to take ownership and drive process enhancements.
