Ground Control has a new opportunity for a field based Arboricultural Surveyor in the South East.
What you’ll achieve;
Whilst delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding client expectations you will form part of an experienced team of arboriculturists working nationwide to deliver high quality tree surveys and consultancy services. The arboricultural surveyor will also be responsible for the pricing of recommendations made and will actively market and develop the Arboricultural services in line with our absolute focus on customer service and outstanding delivery.
Working proactively and developing strong relationships, the Arb Surveyor will work alongside consultants to prepare Reports, plans and supporting documentation in relation to planning, tree condition surveys and insurance claims.
You will have a keen attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and ability for independent working.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with plenty of initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving. You’ll thrive on keeping abreast of industry knowledge and best practice within the world of arb.

Who we’re seeking;
You’ll have previous experience within the tree surveying industry as well as the following;
- A working knowledge of the planning system in relation to trees and BS5837 ‘Trees in relation to construction’
- The ability to deliver comprehensive Arboricultural reports within strict timeframes
- Proficient I.T skills including Tree Management Software
- Level 3 qualification in Arboriculture as a minimum
- Professional Tree Inspector certificated
- Hold a full, clean UK driving license
- Any experience of the following would also be useful;
- GPS Tree Plotting (use of Trimble or similar surveying equipment)
- Risk Assessment using ‘QTRA’ or ‘THREATS’
- Aerial Tree Inspections
- Use of Decay Detection tree survey equipment
- A wider understanding of basic ecology and environmental matters
- Subsidence and insurance claims
- Arboricultural contracting/ pricing
Salary: this role will pay between £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience) and will include bi-annual bonus payments, company shares, a commercial vehicle and company benefits.
