Ground Control are on a mission to help the UK become Carbon Neutral by 2050 and are currently expanding and looking for an Electrical Contracts Manager to join their EV Team. The EV Team is growing and requires an Electrical Contracts Manager to manage our nationwide Field Teams ensuring we provide an outstanding service to our clients.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Electrical Contracts Manager will initially oversee a recently awarded contract for the installation of up to 10,000 chargers across the UK. Once settled, further opportunities will arise within the EV division, enabling an exciting and continuous career path within Ground Control.
The role will have the following responsibilities;
Managing and building key relationships with the electrical Field Teams and the management of our Field engineers
Sourcing new Field Teams across the UK to enable successful delivery of contracts
Ensuring reports/documentation are completed and submitted through internal systems
Managing and taking ownership of the quality of installations and daily audits of works carried out through our portal system
Building relationships with the DNS’s and tracking looped supplies
Authorising additional works where required
Regular site visits to ensure all Health & Safety requirements are being met
Supporting the Programme Lead with case management for after sales service delivery

Who are we looking for?
This is a great opportunity for an existing Electrical Contracts Manager with strong experience of managing teams who is looking for a change and a move into this rapidly expanding business.
You must be a fully qualified Electrical Engineer/Electrician with full 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations as well as a strong understanding/experience of LV/Commercial work.
Experience/knowledge of Electric Vehicle / Charging industry desirable but not essential and is knowledge of the IET Code of Practice for the installation of electrical vehicle charging equipment iii or iv.
In addition, any HV Knowledge/experience would be really useful as well as a relevant qualification in Health & Safety e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH
You will require the following;
Competent on Microsoft Excel and mobile applications
Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate and train others
Dedicated to maintaining the highest quality standards
Proven leadership skills including management
Ability to work on your own initiative
Strong commercial awareness, with a good understanding of costs and KPIs
This is a national role so a valid clean EU/UK driving licence is also essential. The successful candidate will be required to travel nationwide across the UK in order to play a vital role overseeing the contract(s), ensuring that all works are delivered to client specification, on time and within budget. The role will include travel across the UK including overnight stays.
You will also play a key part in the growth and expansion of the Ground Control EV division over the next 5 years, in line with the Ground Control 5 Year Business Plan.
